Marking what would be the 29th birthday of a missing Troy woman, friends and family unveil a billboard in the area where she was last seen. Time Warner Cable News reporter Katie Eastman has more. ALBANY, N.Y. -- Marking what would be the 29th birthday of a missing Troy woman, friends and family unveil a billboard in the area where she was last seen. Ashley Carroll was last seen with a friend near the corner of Lake and Central Avenue in Albany, nearly five years ago.
That's where the new billboard went up, in hopes of gathering information about her disappearance. Loved ones celebrated Carroll's birthday by writing messages to her on balloons and launching them into the sky.
Family members say they hope this billboard will prompt those who know something to say something. "Today is Ashley's birthday and we wanted to recognize and let everybody know that my niece is still missing, we know people know what happened to her and for whatever reason they have not come forward." May 6 will mark five years since her disappearance.
