Ashley Carroll Still Missing Four Years Later - WRGB CBS6 - Top Stories

ALBANY -- On May 6, 2010, Ashley Carroll vanished. Police say she was going to meet up with her boyfriend, and a close friend dropped her off in the area of Quail and First street in Albany.
Police say four years later, there are no new leads in their investigation, but Carroll's family tells CBS6 they're not giving up.
"It's really going to take our community to come out here and step forward and just put an end to the silence," says Kyla Smith, Ashley Carroll's cousin.
Smith says right now the family is working on putting up a custom made billboard for Ashley, but they are having a difficult time finding someone in Albany that can accommodate the size of it. Smith says if and when the billboard finally goes up, she hopes it will encourage people to come forward.
"I believe that someone is afraid," says Smith. "I don't know how anyone sleeps at night knowing they have information, but yet they don't come forward. I can only imagine it's because they are afraid."
As for the rest of the family Smith tells CBS6 they are taking it day by day, and tells us they'll never stop searching for answers.
"As anybody would imagine, I mean losing someone and not having the indefinite answers of where they went, and the constant upsetting feeling that someone could have hurt her. She has a daughter that doesn't even know her mommy at this point because it's been four years," adds Smith.
Police are asking anyone with information about Ashley Carroll's whereabouts to come forward.
